Reduced to its simplest, it is a reliable method of controlling how much you consume in any form regardless of your choice of food or other consumption.

You will be counting kcal (Calories). To be more precise, your computer will be counting kcal (Calories). You will quickly learn:

  • how many kcal is appropriate for you under your personal circumstances.
  • how to count all kcal consumed instantly (hence the spreadsheets).
The NHS confirms kcal is pivotal. They can also advise on what to consume. I adopt the principles outlined in the NHS pages:

http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Pages/eatwell-plate.aspx

What you do is your business.

I maintained spreadsheets for several months (from June 2014) and it took only a couple of minutes each day. Seconds actually. I varied my choices frequently on a whim and the spreadsheet recalculated, in an instant. No one has the same lifestyle every day.

Everything now for me is instinctive, as it will be for you. In other words, I no longer need the spreadsheets and maintain my weight perfectly. My only commitment now is body weight checking daily, using an electronic scale, to ensure I do not drift.
