| There are people who want to lose weight and people who are determined to lose weight. To lose weight you must eat less kcal. Therefore you must be determined. If you are determined and agree that counting kcal is the answer, then the spreadsheets will guarantee success. Not might succeed but will succeed.
Development of the spreadsheets was a personal necessity. I had no choice when I did it but I had the expertise. The website was definitely inspired by others I heard about who expressed frustration with the impossibility of counting kcal. I have been there, done it and got the T shirt. I understand what the issues are and I want to freely share my spreadsheets.
The reason motivation appears prominently here is because I believe for many, it will be the biggest influence on success or failure. Particularly people who may be half way between wanting to lose weight and being determined to lose weight.
The mutual support of like-minded others can be beneficial. Mutual support can help detach you from circumstances where you are more likely to consume kcal. You can spend time inside a bubble of kinship where everyone has the same goal for their own reasons.
People may need to be distracted from circumstances which make them prone to weight-gain. For this reason I believe support groups, in whatever form, can be of great assistance.
Anyone can of course start their own personal support group, in their own area, with people they know and are comfortable with employing these principles, in that support group. Nothing here is copyright.
Why not start your own kcal-watch or Calorie-watch club ? What you call it does not matter. |
