| By option I mean very gradual weight loss.
Nothing in the kcal-watch principle presumes to dictate how you proceed. A far more gradual approach to weight-loss, over a much longer time-scale may suit some better. As a basis for discussion I will suggest twelve months. It took me a lot less than that but what matters is that you reach your goal.
If someone was to adopt the principle and set their kcal limit at the higher guideline figure offered by the NHS application, it will immediately have the effect of arresting further weight-gain. That in itself is profoundly useful.
Due diligence to the higher kcal limit will inevitably result in a very gradual decline in weight anyway. During which time the person concerned will still obtain all the desirable knowledge promised by the principle. It cannot fail.
A more gradual reduction may be preferred or necessary for a number of reasons, not least medical. We are all unique. You may need to seek medical advice on that from your own trusted sources.
With the passage of time, anyone adopting this more gradual approach, can always revise their approach whenever they feel it is appropriate. The principle is completely flexible. |
