| Given the enormous diversity of what can routinely be taken in by mouth, the prospect of counting kcal without electronic aid is for all practical purposes nil. That will quickly become obvious to anyone who makes a genuinely serious attempt at that approach.
As a result, the odds are heavily stacked against anyone succeeding with weight control and no one should ever blame themselves or feel guilty. Whether or not you actually count kcal, intake of kcal has to be reduced in order to to lose weight. There is no escape from that. It is not in the interests of any business to genuinely help people to succeed with weight loss and sustain that weight loss. This is what you are up against.
Many people already know this. I am obviously not the first but I may be the first, publicly at least, to deliver a practical solution to the old problem of number crunching. A practical solution to what is, in this context, a technical problem rather than a medical problem.
The wealthiest people on the planet could not pay someone else to lose weight on their behalf. It is something we each have to deal with personally and live with personally afterwards. In the absence of a personal dietician to plan, prepare and literally serve up our dietary intake on a plate, the best arrangement currently available, that actually works, is the spreadsheets.
When implementing the CONSUMPTION spreadsheet accurately, which takes seconds, the truth will quickly be seen. The kcal threshold, for weight-loss purposes, is soon reached on any given day. Perhaps for the first time, people using the spreadsheets will recognise they have absolute control over their kcal intake. If you decide to proceed you have no idea yet how excited you will become as you see the control you have.
Choices will have to be made. There is little scope for anything other than necessities during the weight-loss phase. It is easy to squander your valuable kcal on frivolous produce. Usually what I refer to as add-ons.
We are all under constant bombardment from convenience food and drink. It is by definition convenient. Compact, lightweight, portable and fully prepared for immediate consumption. Think about that. It is in your face everywhere you go; one bag of crisps plus one confectionery bar could easily wipe more than 25% off the daily kcal allowance in the weight-loss phase.
If anyone seriously chooses to contain their kcal intake to the correct intake in their particular circumstances, they will by definition be consuming less kcal. There is therefore undoubtedly an element of personal sacrifice involved at first (only at first). No amount of discussion will ever change the facts.
Whether, deep down, anyone is genuinely prepared to make that commitment, only they will know. The spreadsheets resource will be an invaluable life-changer for the people who do genuinely want to make that commitment. |
